Nicole Eggert, known for her role on “Baywatch,” recently revealed on Instagram that she had a mastectomy with reconstruction surgery.

Eggert completed treatment for stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer after being diagnosed in December 2023. She noted that the process involved extensive waiting and uncertainty.

“There’s a lot of waiting in this and it’s sort of something I didn’t realize and nobody really talks about,” she said.

Cribriform carcinoma is a rare, slow-growing form of invasive ductal carcinoma. Eggert first mistook her symptoms for menopause before a self-exam led to her diagnosis.

She shared her journey openly, describing both the physical and emotional toll cancer has taken.

“This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sail through life,” she said.

Eggert also spoke about her anxiety around follow-up scans and the relief of receiving clear results.

“That anxiety leading up to it is debilitating, like it’s horrible,” she explained.

She emphasizes that survivorship is an ongoing process.

“Does it ever stop? I don’t think so,” she said.
