Chrissy Teigen, 39, discussed her decision to use Ozempic after facing difficulty losing weight following a pregnancy loss at 20 weeks.
She openly explored her journey with the medication, touching on both the physical and emotional impacts in conversation with author Johann Hari.
“My body was completely stuck,” she said.
Feeling uncomfortable in her body and experiencing a “pregnant belly with no baby in it” affected her deeply.
Teigen explained how Ozempic, a medication typically used to treat Type 2 diabetes, was a complicated part of her healing process.
“I realized I had woken up and I wasn’t hungry,” she said, describing challenges in maintaining a healthy eating routine.
Adapting her dose eventually helped her appetite return, but she admitted that losing her desire for food felt foreign.
“I love being hungry. I love craving food. I love desiring food. I get so excited to make it, to try it, to taste every part of it.”
Teigen also admitted to feeling hesitant about sharing her experience due to her career around food.
“I sell food to people. I sell indulgent food to people. I sell cookbooks. Right. I eat food that I want and I’m not being truthful,” she said.
Chrissy Teigen, who has four children with musician John Legend, continues to speak honestly about her health journey and challenges.
