The U.S. Postal Service is raising mail rates from October 5, 2025, through January 18, 2026 to support peak holiday operations. Customers shipping packages this holiday season will see temporary price hikes based on shipping zone and package weight, affecting both retail and commercial rates.
The affected rates include Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select, with increases ranging from $0.30 to $16.00. This change is pending final approval from the Postal Regulatory Commission.
To help streamline holiday deliveries, USPS will also debut 11 new sorting and delivery centers between September and October. These state-of-the-art facilities are part of a $40 billion investment designed to simplify operations and improve reliability.
New centers will open in cities such as Bloomington, Baltimore, Edison, Watertown, and Charlotte, supporting efficient holiday mail handling nationwide.
