An active recall is underway for brown eggs after a multistate Salmonella outbreak, according to the FDA.

The eggs were supplied by Country Eggs, LLC from Lucerne Valley, California. Ninety-five people across 14 states have reported illnesses, including eighteen hospitalizations.

The recalled eggs were distributed in California and Nevada between June 16 and July 9, 2025. They were sold as large brown cage-free varieties including “sunshine” and “omega-3 golden” yolk eggs.

Brand names to look for are Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, and Nijiya Markets, all with sell by dates between July 1 and September 18, 2025 and code No. CA 7695 (or 7695).

Some of the eggs were also distributed in bulk to the food service sector under Country Eggs LARGE BROWN SUNSHINE YOLKS, with the same sell by dates.

The FDA and CDC traced the outbreak to Country Eggs, LLC after people reported illness following exposure to eggs or egg-containing foods.

The company has issued a recall of all potentially affected eggs to safeguard public health.

Anyone who has purchased these eggs should discard them or return them for a refund. Watch for symptoms of Salmonella, including diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, which can appear within 12 to 72 hours and last up to a week.

If you have concerns about the recall, Country Eggs, LLC can be reached at 1-(800)-722-3447 or [email protected].

Stay proactive about your well-being by checking egg labels and taking action if you have items included in the recall.
