Pianist Ludovic Zamor once spent long hours sitting for work, but the pandemic challenged his healthy routines. After losing his manager and teacher, Zamor faced depression and unhealthy habits that led to a significant weight gain.
Struggling with basic activities, he realized it was time for a change and chose to focus on his health before returning to the stage.
“I decided to have a full, hard reset and just take so much time away from the stage to get back into feeling (like) myself,” he shared.
He spent months clearing his home of junk food and learned to make gradual, manageable adjustments to support new habits.
Setting small goals with gym workouts, Zamor built up his cardio endurance with tools like the StairMaster, slowly increasing his stamina.
He later added weight lifting, starting with basic exercises and progressing as his strength improved.
“That’s how I got from 275 to 200 (pounds), and then from 200, that’s when I started incorporating traditional weight lifting, dead lifts and pull-ups,” he explained.
Zamor also adopted intermittent fasting, learning to eat intentionally and avoid fast food, while emphasizing simple meals rich in protein and vegetables.
“Nothing glamorous. Just simple and consistent,” he added.
Beyond the physical benefits, Zamor noticed improvements in his professional stamina and mental outlook.
“To be a concert pianist and perform at a high level, I had to be in shape. It helped my stamina with performing,” he shared.
He encourages others to be patient, reminding readers that progress comes gradually and lasting results require persistence.
“It’s not going to be a sense of instant gratification. It’s a lot of work down the road, and you just have to stay consistent,” he advised.
