  • Michelle Pfeiffer champions clean beauty and safer ingredients at age 66.
  • She advocates for self-confidence that aligns with aging, not fighting it.
  • Her fragrance brand Henry Rose meets top environmental safety standards.

Michelle Pfeiffer has embraced both her age and her dedication to clean beauty, making conscious choices about the products she uses.

The Hollywood legend advocates for cosmetics safety, having even visited Capitol Hill to push for stricter regulations in the industry.

In Her Own Words

“The older I’ve gotten, the easier it’s become,” she shared with Oprah Daily. “You reach a threshold where you’re fine with looking good for your age instead of looking young for your age, and I’ve crossed it. Would I like to look the way I did in my early 30s? You bet, but that’s not going to happen, and I don’t feel the same pressure I once did to do so. It’s quite a relief, honestly.”

While clean products are her preference off-camera, Pfeiffer recognizes the performance needs of her career often require flexibility with makeup choices.

“When I’m in the makeup chair, I just let the artist have her way with me. I’ve tried asking a few to use clean or organic makeup, and they look at me like I have three heads. I have to have different standards,” she said.

At home, she sticks with simple routines, sharing, “My routine is simple: I cleanse, I moisturize—that’s it.”

Frustrated by a lack of safe perfume options, Pfeiffer founded Henry Rose, which only uses ingredients meeting strict EWG and C2C criteria.

“When I founded Henry Rose, the only thing I truly cared about was creating a quality fragrance that met the strict safety and sustainability standards of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Cradle to Cradle (C2C),” she stated.

She describes the formulation process as challenging, especially with the limited ingredients that meet clean standards, but each new scent feels like a triumph.

For those seeking safer beauty choices, Pfeiffer also recommends brands like Beauty Counter and Guide Beauty.
