- The FDA classified the recall as Class II: possible temporary health risks.
- People with milk allergies should avoid and return the affected butter.
Bunge North America, Inc. has recalled 64,800 pounds of NH European Style Butter Blend because it contains milk not listed as an allergen. This product was distributed to centers in the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.
The recall received a Class II risk from the FDA, meaning consuming the butter may cause reversible health effects or that adverse reactions are unlikely but possible.
People with milk allergies are urged to avoid this butter to prevent a potentially serious reaction.
“If you have a milk allergy, do not use or eat the recalled butter,” health officials say.
Everyone is encouraged to check their butter’s product codes and return or discard any affected items for safety.

From my farm growing up, butter has always been made with milk/cream. It should be a given. Is it because so many people eat margarine these days that they dint know butter is made from real food, not a bunch of chems?
