Listeria Outbreak Prompts Major Pasta Recall
Health Points
- Six deaths and 25 hospitalizations reported in 18 states due to listeria outbreak.
- Recalled pasta meals span popular brands and retailers nationwide.
- Older adults, pregnant people, and those with weak immune systems face higher risks.
Authorities have linked prepared pasta products from Nate’s Fine Foods to a listeria outbreak affecting thousands across 18 states. Major grocery chains, including Kroger, Walmart, Albertsons, and Trader Joe’s, have removed certain pasta meals from shelves as recalls continue since June.
Multiple types of pasta salads, linguini bowls, and Alfredo trays are among the recalled products. Consumers who have these items at home should discard them right away.
“Listeria can be especially dangerous for people over 65, pregnant individuals, and anyone with weakened immune defenses,” experts say.
The outbreak investigation is still active, and more details may emerge as updates come in.
Please check your refrigerator and freezer for recalled meals if you shop at affected retailers—when in doubt, throw it out to protect your health.
