Jewel, through her Inspiring Children Foundation and the #NotAloneChallenge, is breaking barriers in mental health empowerment. In its fourth year, the campaign hands out practical, free resources to help anyone seeking support.

“The motivation was to go a step beyond raising awareness — to be able to put tools into people’s hands that are usable and free,” Jewel shares.

Growing up in a challenging environment, Jewel began developing her emotional toolkit early. She credits writing, mindfulness practices, and learning to see anxiety as a message — not a flaw — as key steps in her self-care journey.

“I stopped thinking that anxiety meant something was wrong with me, and maybe it meant something was right with me, that my anxiety was my body’s way of telling me I was consuming something that didn’t agree with me,” she explains.

With fame came new stresses, but Jewel found peace by pacing her career and maintaining a healthy balance. She believes a manageable lifestyle and intentional career choices have been crucial for her sustained wellbeing.

Her work highlights the power of movement, gratitude, and community, expanding the #NotAloneChallenge to include supportive events and opportunities for connection.
