  • Sno Pac and Del Mar frozen spinach recalled nationwide due to listeria concerns.
  • Products include specific lot codes and best-by dates; check your freezer carefully.
  • No illness reported, but listeria poses higher risk for adults over 65 and the immunocompromised.

Bags of frozen spinach sold under Sno Pac and Del Mar brands have been recalled across the U.S. following a positive test for listeria. The recall involves 35-pound boxes of Del Mar Bulk Organic Frozen Spinach and 10-ounce bags of Sno Pac Organic Frozen Cut Spinach.

Specific Del Mar lots include codes 250107A, 250107B, 250107C, 250107D, 2501071, and 2501073, with an expiration date of Jan. 1, 2027.

The affected Sno Pac spinach comes in 10-ounce packages with codes SPM1.190.5 (best by 7/9/27), SPC1.160.5 and SPC2.160.5 (both best by 6/9/27), and SPM1.097.5 (best by 4/7/27).

The recalled items were distributed nationwide, both in stores and through distributors.

Testing found listeria in a bulk case from Sno Pac’s supplier, leading to the production halt while the source is investigated.

“Listeria monocytogenes is a type of bacteria found in soil, water, and decaying vegetation that can cause illness,” according to the FDA.

Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea, and more severe effects for those over 65 or with weakened immune systems.

No illnesses related to the recalled spinach have been reported at this time.
