Dylan Efron Dives Into Dance and Wellness
Health Points
- Dancing led Dylan Efron to alter his fitness routine, focusing on mobility and injury prevention.
- He prioritizes high-protein meals and smoothies to stay energized for rehearsals.
- Joining “Dancing With the Stars” helped him face his fear of performing and find new joy in movement.
Dylan Efron, fresh from his first week on “Dancing With the Stars,” is celebrating a personal victory—overcoming stage fright and embracing the challenge of live performance. He and partner Daniella Karagach impressed both judges and fans with a high-energy cha cha that kicked off their competition journey.
“I feel happy about the first week. I think I did what I set out there to do, which was really conquer my fear of performing,” he shares.
Week two sees Efron deepening his commitment, with longer rehearsals and intense choreography. Regular training sessions now center on flexibility and preventative mobility work rather than traditional gym routines, helping him adapt to the physical demands of dance.
His nutrition has shifted, too—he relies on protein shakes and nutritious meals to support his energy and muscle recovery. Efron notes the unique challenge of maintaining strength while burning calories through hours of dance practice.
“My workout routine is way different because we train for four hours a day. I haven’t really gone to the gym besides doing mobility work. So I’m just trying to prevent injuries, to get my hips more mobile, a lot of stretching,” he says.
Family support has been key, with Efron reaching out to his mom right after his debut on stage. The rush of performing live has ignited his drive, encouraging him to stay healthy and take on each dance with passion.
“It’s literally the first performance on stage with the spotlight on me. Like, my whole life, I’ve been more comfortable behind the camera, not being the focus of everyone. And this is a huge challenge to overcome that fear and not only have a spotlight on me, but actually command the stage and do the thing,” Efron reflects.
Dancing has become not just a new workout, but a source of confidence and joy, proving it’s never too late to embrace a new challenge and prioritize wellbeing.
