The CDC is collaborating with state health officials after illnesses linked to home-delivered Metabolic Meals were reported in 10 states. A total of 16 people became sick, and seven required hospitalization; thankfully, no fatalities have occurred.

The affected meals, which include dishes like Four Cheese Tortellini with Pesto Sauce and Low Carb Chicken Teriyaki, were delivered with specific lot codes and best-by dates in early August 2025.

“Customers who received these meals have been contacted by Metabolic Meals with information about the outbreak,” the CDC said.

The CDC suggests safely discarding any meals included in their advisory and cleaning surfaces and utensils that may have come into contact with them.

If you experience severe symptoms such as high fever, ongoing diarrhea, or signs of dehydration, contact your healthcare provider promptly.

Salmonella affects over a million people annually in the U.S., with contaminated food being a primary source. Taking these precautions can help protect your health and well-being.

Stay vigilant and informed to keep your meals—and your household—safe from foodborne illness.
